A plee for help!! 
I have been up to the sanctuary today and have been speaking to Kat and Bridie who do a fantastic job of looking after all the animals up there, but they need help from you all if possible.
I know this topic has mentioned the need for wormimg tablets, but they are always in desperate need of the following:
Blankets, bedding, towels or any old curtains etc will be great as at this time of year they struggle to wash and dry the bedding for the dogs and cats
Cat and dog food
Rice and Pasta (they cook this up and feed to the old or sick dogs along with chicken or liver)
Dog collars (poundland in the UK or the chinese shops over here do really cheap ones!)
Grooming brushes for dogs, cats and donkeys
Washing machine! (the one they have now is on its last legs and is the only means they have of trying to wash the bedding)
If you are able to help provide any of the above, then that would be absolutely fab!
If you can't get up to the sanctuary yourselves, then please feel free to deliver it to us at Ma-Ja's restaurant in Carvoeiro and we will be more than happy to take it up there for you. We are currently open lunch and evening Thursday to Sunday inclusive and no this is not free advertising, just trying to help out the sanctuary

Just an update on the small dog.
Alan from the refuge has emailed me to say the little dog has now had an operation to straighten her leg. This has gone fine and she is now back at the refuge waiting for a new home. She is so lovely and friendly and will make a lovely pet for a new owner.

Just had this email from Alan from the sanctuary
Dear Dave & Jenny
Just to update you our little black bitch is doing really well after her leg operation, she is having her dressing changed each week and the Vet is pleased with her progress. We have deemed her fit enough to be speyed and she had that op on Monday, poor little cow, all she knows is visits to the vets. We are going tomorrow to take her out for a good walk, as the vet wants her to build up her muscle. Looking forward to seeing her. Will keep you in touch with her progress and any possible adoption.
All the animals at the Sanctuary wish you a very Happy Christmas and New Year and thank you for your valuable support during 2011.
