It is 24 C in the shade right now. Hotter today then the last few days as there is less breeze. Just perfect at the moment!
Sunday night was cold, everyone eating outside was shivering, but last night was ok.

Re: is it really that hot.
We have just come back from a week in the area and have temperatures ranging from 22C - 38C during the day, most days the breeze keeps it cooler but on the days it is calm it can get very hot indeed. August we have know it to be in the 40C's
Re: is it really that hot.
We just back today, 1 week in Tavira and 1 week in Cvo. It has been really hot but was a bit cooler on sunday past at it was cloudy quite a lot that day but it was really nice to be away from this horrible rain that we supposed to be getting all day tomorrow
Re: is it really that hot.
The one year we actually visited CVO in August it was only warm and the wind made it feel very cold. Went on to stay near Lisbon for a couple of nights and it was so cold & windy at night that we had tee-shirts, fleeces and coats on. We had a late flight out, and that day the wind dropped and it hit 39 in the shade! Just goes to show that, like the Uk, you cannot predict the weather.

Come to Edinburgh - it is at this moment in time throwing down rain like there's no tomorrow accompanied by thunder and lightning! Happily swap places!

Re: is it really that hot.
It's been great weather the last few days her on the Isle of Mull over on the west coast! Last August when I was back in Caramujeira the temperature got up to 48 degrees. Apparently it was the hottest summer for 30 years and it was absolutely vile, you just couldn't do anything. You'd think that after living there for 10 years I'd be used to it. I'm giving it a miss this summer and will go the begining of October when it will be cooler.
