By the way you spell it Fredericks, not fredricks, this too is a first class restaurant in Camden Passage and has been for many years, personally "The Fat Duck"was a tremendous let down for me and my family,i suppose we are spoilt coming from London and also forget Paris the Eateries in Le Touquet "Paris Plague"are so much better, not cheaper but better.

I thank you.

I have had enough of your irritating behaviour.

The restaurant I refer to is FREDRICKS
http://www.fredricks-hotel.co.uk/

So PLEASE don't correct my spelling and then refer to a different restaurant. Fredricks is an excellent restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants personal service and excellent food. The Fat Duck (I think) is a little up its backside but is certainly worth at least one visit just to say you have been.

To correct me in that way I find rude. But hey - who cares what I think.

Re Snaj - I bothered to check your posts to see what floated your boat - but it quickly became clear that you had only visited one restaurant so I feel that I can discard your comments about the poor food in Cvo as you obviously haven't tried that many restaurants.

Actually Snaj (or whatever you call yourself) you are an arrogant tosser and the fact is, I wish I had not bothered to read your previous posts to find out if you had a valid complaint - should have just assumed you were an arrogant tosser in the first place.

If the food options are that bad, make your own food. No one (apart from a few) want to hear your mindless whinges when you obviously have NO idea what you are talking about.

At least compeltecvo has visited restaurants in Cvo and can say why he does or doens;t like them (whether we agree is another matter) - but you just seem to be a total idiot.

We have a great little town, some excellent restaurants and some good cafe type places - if they are not good enough for you then go complain somewhere else.

Ooh FMM,
Arrogant little tosser? Moi?Harsh. I guess you are one of those Hilly Billy types who burn crosses in gardens
and wear 6 fingered gloves.
Your Favourite isn't film Deliverance by any chance is it?

I hope your opinion isn't indicative of the rest of the forum users, whom I may add may not agree with myself but
do not resort to personal attacks to get a point across.
I have merely expressed an opinion and I have eaten in CVO on many occasions, but did not feel they were upto much.
I did not resort to naming and slagging these restaurants off because THAT would be petty and arrogant.

Oh get a grip. Face it, you haven't been to Cvo that much, you say you don't eat there, so for goodness sake don't moan about the bad restaurants when you haven't tried them. Rather than just do a communal slagging off for every Cvo restaurant, it would have been FAR better if you had highlighted the ones which you felt were not up to scratch. Writing off a whole town the way you did is definitely arrogant.

Oh - and you are so funny. I may just burst my sides laughing at your witty and clever response.

Oh dear we are getting a little heated.

Having lived here for 10 years now I can only say that we (O Boteco excepted) have never had a really bad meal nor an outstanding meal.

CVO is a middle of the road town with middle of the road residents. If you want Michelin standard food, you go to the 'Golden Triangle' where you pay for the privilege of living in an artificial 5* version of Portugal.

Each to their own.

Ive never understood the 'snobbery' of food?!..
and Im always grateful to anyone who cooks for me (I do all the cooking in this house)..as long as the food is tasty and the place is clean, Im happy :)

As I said in my previous post, some of the best cooking I experienced was by our carpentry lads and by the owner of the orange orchards where our business was.....fresh tasty food cooked simply on a homemade BBQ & excellent wine & eating Al Fresco, wonderful :P

Be grateful for what you eat..theres plenty that go hungry in the world!

So very true.

Best meals are ones served up in persons own homes. made with love and laughter, and other bits thrown in.

Cant beat it

JoJo and Ellie are right. There are plenty that go hungry in this world and I am grateful
for what I receive, as I have seen at first hand what embargoes do to a nations people.
Lack of food is just one result.
Unfortunately FMMs comments resulted in the red mist descending when I perhaps should have taken a step back.
Everybody has the right to an opinion without being subject to personal attacks, even an arrogant witty tosser like myself..

Remember what you said in your first post

"I am of the opinion that there isn't a decent restaurant in CVO"

Still nothing to back that up. Irrespective of the overused excuse "red mist" - the above was in your original post. You have not yet bothered to say which restaurants in Cvo have coloured your opinion of its culinary delights. I, for one, would like to hear that you really have tried some of the restaurants and are not as much of a twit as you have tried to make out you are. So please back up your comments with fact - I have asked you several times and not yet had a response. Oh, I assumed you were losing it a bit with your "hilly billy" (did you mean hill billy?) post and ignored the first paragraph as there were various words missing and it did not make that much sense to me.

In case you weren't sure, I am very proud of our village and dislike it intensely when people who have not appeared to have done much research can wipe out 60 restaurants with one scathing sentence.

FMM we were talking about restaurants not a little bed & breakfast in the sticks miles away from any normal civillisation, you cannot mention the B&B you stated as any sort of reference to high class eateries such as the internationally renowned Fredericks of London.

YOU might have been but sorry, I was referring to our local restaurants, which happen to inclue the Fat Duck, Waterside and Fredricks - these are probably our top 3 and are all spoken of by people in the same vein. I believe the hotel has 4 AA rosettes, so not exactly a B&B. In fact, we run the local B&B in this area and we don't exactly look upon Fredricks as competition for us ...

btw - Windsor is not quite in the sticks - ask Her Majesty ...

FMM,
I still stand by what I say. Obviously I haven't eaten in all the restaurants in CVO, but my personal experience
of the ones I did eat at weren't very good, which is why we avoided CVO for meals.
I'm not a food snob by any means: one mans gourmet is an another mans swill after all.
I also think singling out these restaurants on this forum would be unfair as I have said earlier as these people are
trying to make a living in currently difficult circumstances.
Additionally naming them would not make one iota of difference; after all CVO is a town catering to tourists.

I like the areas around CVO and I will be returning again, but I probably won't eat in CVO.
Except for the Canapes at the ice cream shop which are good.

Kindest Regards
Snaj :D

Good ploy Snaj - you don't want to upset the owner of the ice cream shop!!

Oh believe me Windsor really is a backwater,Queenie inherited the castle there did she not, thats why she spends the majority of her time at Buck House, why would she or anyone else come to that matter want to stay in Windsor, one very low flying aeroplane overhead every minute of the day that must send you crazy or maybe you just become accustomed to it? Still you do have the Beautiful Slough as a neighbour!!! I bet theres also some good B&Bs there too.

I Thank You
