Hi, We're Arriving this thursday for our much awaited holiday in Carvoeiro. would like to know of any good piri piri restaurants in town. Anything similar to Senor Frangos in Almancil? Cheers

To be honest, we have never found a good piri piri restaurant in carvoeiro, although we are told that O casurino (not the right spelling) at the main road, after Pingo Dolce turning right towards faro (its immediately on the left hand side at lagoa) is supposed to be really good. We usually go to Guia.

Spot on Tricks mate :)
We always got our take aways from there..and delicious they were too.
Its 'O Casarao'...
when we lived in Lagoa the old chap used to cook them on the BBQ.
But Ive heard that they are still as good today.
Mmmm my mouths watering at the thought :P

(we used to have chicken piri piri, chips & salad plus 3 pieces of almond tart......and beers  )

Just thought, A Galerea did quite a good one...just up Estrada do Farol (restaurant hill) on the right coming from the square.

O Casarao - still cooked on charcoal grill, served with real chips (€6.50) and salada mista (€2.50), Lagoa wine (to taste at around €6) - best outside of Guia but closed Saturday.

I know it's not in Carvoeiro but had fabulous piri piri the other evening in O Teodosio's in Guia, we got there at 7.40 & it was already buzzing, by the time we left an hour later people were queuing at the doors. Making the most of it now as it's murder in August, seats over 340 & every one taken in August.

O Casarao never seems to change - yes still as good as when we first arrived and certainly the best in the CVO area which is the advice that was requested.

Others are as good and many have more atmosphere but are not near CVO.

I agree Blue, that is a really good Piri piri restaurant. It is always full even though it is enormous and there is always a que.
An experience.

This is the very best Piri Piri restaurant in the Algarve in my view.

What about Chicken George's which is not far from Rocha Brava, just off the road to Benagil.

Have been going there for 20 years or so. Great value, great food.

It must be 20 years since we first went there, is George still there?

George is still there and he hasn't changed a bit!

He has now had to comply with EU regulations of course and the track down to his place has now been tarmaced.
