New lay-out... happy or not?
Registered users: If you go into your "User Control Panel", select "Board preferences" and set "SubSilver2" as your "board style" you'll get something resembling the old board.
I can make either the old lay-out or the new lay-out default for the forum - which should it be?
In either case you can use the style you prefer by setting it in your control panel so it is only of importance for new and non registered users.
Be adventurous; give both a chance and then vote above (you can even change your vote).

Re: New lay-out... happy or not?
I like to have the choice. At the moment I am drawn to the older one - but I was getting to grips with the newer one . . . . on the fence, or what?
Re: New lay-out... happy or not?
Hiya, I am getting used to it. Just a shock to see a new look once open.

Re: New lay-out... happy or not?
If someone can tell me how to move to next topic without having to go back to an index page then I will probably be perfectly happy with the new layout. As I am still waiting for a workaround for that, I have switched to the older style.

I must confess the layout with the usernames on the left is more common and I am more used to it, so I have set my layout back to SubSilver2.

Suggestion or request.....
As we are in the process of creating a new look...would it be possible to move Word Game, Word Association and the Caption Comp out of CHIT CHAT? Maybe create a seperate section for these games?

On that subject, can posts on those threads be removed from the post count like they are on DS and other forums I frequent.Bruce Wallis wrote:Suggestion or request.....

And any news on my workaround, or if it doesn't exist/isn't possible, can you let me know. I am afraid I am way too busy or is that lazy to return to an index after reading the posts in a thread, I just want to move to the next topic.

Need to give it a longer try - Friday lunchtime at work isn't the best time to get familiar with the site. I like the general look though........
Re: New lay-out... happy or not?
I am not scared of them - well ok maybe a little bit
and I have been disliked for my views on here enough times for it now to be water of a duck's back.
I guess you and I, Bruce are very used to specialist forums where, in forum etiquette terms, ones' post count is indicative of longevity and credibility. I imagine newbies on here asking for information and believing the answer to be gospel based on it coming from someone with a huge post count that everyone, but the newbie, knows originated from 2000 word game posts
But hey ho, I'd better get my coat ..... taxi for one
