In town: Chef Antonio

Most of our 'favourite' restaurants are outside town

Do not forget LA BELLA VITTA, in Carvoeiro Club Atlantico ( i know it is not from walking distance from CVO), but it serves great food.

I agree with most of these top fives but certainly most surprised that L'Orange was not mentioned or indeed O'patio.

I always think L'Orange is a bit like Tony Blair.....always over-hyped, but now had it's day

 Have to agree with you there Bruce, not one of my favourites, but a restaurant and the food they serve is such a personal taste thing. Like wine..

List of top 5 clubs? Hardly spoilt for choice, as far as I know there's 'Bote Discoteque' on the beach & 'Adega' up restaurant hill. So you either have to be into expensive drinks, bad music & foam party's or a sad perv'.

think you will find, like some of the restaurants and bars in the last 12 mths, the Bote has a new owner and will be revamped with possibility of food during the day followed by entertainment until the early hours ...

The 'out road' now has life beyond Ele & Ela, Oasis and Hemmingways with Bojangles, Innside, Casa do Pao, Medina, Mistral, Troppo, Anteak and more - plus there is parking...

Ah, but the Adega is unique entertainment when you sit in Havana and observe the hopelessly drunk pervs trying to be inconspicuous about heading down there. "They are about as inconspicuous as a giraffe in dark glasses trying to get into a polar bears-only golf club"

True PJ and don't forget 'Le Doce' next door to Anteak for a nice bit of lunch..great shakes :P
Ive enjoyed nice meals at Casa do Pao, Oasis,Anteak,Colombos and L'Orange (would disagree with Bruce & Lesley here, as always had good food here)

But why not explore? Go into Lagoa and beyond, have a little drive, find 'out of the way' places, where the Portuguese eat, always a good sign I think and cheaper for you too if you have a family. Be adventurous
When we lived there we never went to 'restaurants' as such, but always where the Portuguese eat and always found nice food and although not 'posh' very clean!
Happy holidays
