Vegetarian - places to eat
Hi
I am veggie and would like to know places to eat in CVO as i am going next year and will be my first time. i do eat fish but have to make certain there are no bones in first. This is my first time to portugal and would hate to have a bad experience. Has anyone got an idea?
Also what is portugese for vegetarian??
I will be going with meat eaters aswell so as not to isolate is there somewhere we can all enjoy

Ele and Ela do a small veggie choice as do Maximes, the Pizza places are a good bet (obviously) so don't worry, you will be able to have a lovely meal nearly everywhere you go, have a great holiday, I hope you really enjoy it.

I know some others on the forum have given other names of restaurants who do veggie food but is usually very limited. don't suppose there would be a call for a good vegetarian restaurant in cvo???

Actually there are many restaurants in CVO that explicitly offer a veg choice. Ele + Ela, L'Orange, Bon Bon, Mitz, O Salmao in Monte Carvoeiro, Barnhards in Ferraguda and Village Inn (see FreeMap) to name a few.
But what they all have in common is that none are native Portugese. Some of the "local" restaurants like Chef Antonio, Casa Algarvia and others will make veg to order (just ask), but eating risotto and pasta can get a bit tiring.

You can also try when in Portimao.......A Vegi only Restaurant...It is right opposite the OLD Camara entrance...and by the Camara I mean the big Pinky coloured building.......so not to confuse it is just around the corner of the big Pinki building in the side street......So from Mcdonalds its right on down the hill..over the little roundabout ..keep going over the lights and as you pass Pinki building..its on your right.
