Re: wi-fi
Posting from Casa Palmeira right now! Food was excellent too! we had the seafood rice. messy but very tasty and reasonably priced. Lots of locals use it so I always reckon that's a good sign.

Re: The Black Stove - Live (ly) still?
Thanks all for the feedback - sounds like we've a reasonable chance of a much needed breather this year A pity we missed the H.A. shindig - we happen to know quite a few in the UK and would probably have joined in the party for a change ;-) We spoke to some of them from Geneva. "did you ride all th...

Re: The Black Stove - Live (ly) still?
We were in there on Saturday. There was a hell's angels meet on but tbh the band woulda sent ye to sleep, lol. The cops (gnr) got the staff to close the doors around about eleven so hopefully ye'll get some rest this year!

Re: Other Language Forums
I went on the German forum and didn't understand a word - they had the nerve to post everything in German! Seriously though, that is half the problem - on the whole we English are too lazy to learn other languages as a lot of other nationalities speak English and can join in on English-spea...

How poor is the siting of the web cam ?
see tbh I don't reckon the view you get does anything at all for CVO. Makes the place look like a ghost town most of the time. Surely in this day in age a better position could be found that shows off just how vibrant the town can be, not just random unknown people waving or having a wee kiss. A vie...

Re: Villa theft
Goatee There is every chance you will not encounter anything unpleasant. In 25 years as a property tourist we only encountered one incident and that was our fault as we did not close the shutters on one window when we went into town and left stuff on 'show'. That was 17 years ago and having learned...

Re: Villa theft
Wishing I hadn't read this now. The villa we're going to is in Monte Servo but it's only about 4/5 yrs old so it has electric shutters on all windows except one (fire regs I believe) and an alarm. I suppose vigilance is keyword. The electric gates also give a sense of security too as no one ...

Re: Best Supermarket in Carvoeiro
I've never had an issue with Intermarche tbh. OK it can be very busy but if yer looking for a UK type supermarket then it ain't for u. The best way that I find to shop there is to stay chilled out, yer on yer holidays after all, so what's the rush? I'd prolly compare it to a Lidl/Aldi type shop. The...
Don't get into the fast track lane by mistake! I did this once in heavy rain and fast moving traffic, and when I came to leave the motorway it cost me a fine of 70 euros.
That's what I'm afraid of. I'd imagine these lanes are the outside lanes, so do you get countdown markers on the...

Re: Yippee - 2011 all booked!!!
I would imagine nobody really cares, but I want to shout it from the rooftops. Having visited for the first time at Easter this year and fallen in love with CVO I have booked to return in June 2011. Villa Granuaile booked (thanks girls) and flights just booked. We enjoyed really good weather at Eas...
