Re: Looking forward to returning....
Yeah exactly what we plan to do - get them down to the square for the entertainment after being fed. May even help the local economy buying ice creams/drinks  I think possibly "truth hurts" was aimed at earlier comment "What a plonker!"??? Thanks for the tips. Off to Centre Parcs on Monday for...

Re: Looking forward to returning....
What an awful reply by Carveiro1! Agree any money spent is money for the local economy. With 4 young kiddies, to be honest often having a BBQ makes for a far more relaxing holiday than rounding everyone up to go down to eat in town. Means they can stay by the pool til late where they are happy! As f...

Looking forward to returning....
Looking forward to returning to Carvoeiro in August. Our last visit was May 2009. Used to holiday there anually, often joined by my father who loved CVO but sadly passed away v unexpectedly last year....so I just couldn't face visiting last year and think our trip this year will be happy/sad if that...

Re: Any advice appreciated
Hi, could Monte Dourado themselves help you out? We were faced with a similar problem-due to arrive 23rd Aug but apt wasn't ready til 24th (private owner). Monte D found another apt for us for 1 night til we could move into proper one. Private owner was going to cover all costs for us as it was a bo...

Re: BMI Baby Manchester to Faro
Unfortunately don't seem very cheap at all - but we are looking at school holiday dates. Monarch/Jet2 more reasonable at the mo.

Re: Villa Rental 2010 Help
I would say about 10-15 mins walk max. Doesn't bother most of our party, but my father has mobility problems. He has managed both hills up to Monte Dourado in the past though (slowly !!!) What is Areias Dos Moinhos like as a location generally, and in terms of distances? Haven't stayed here previous...

Hi All,
Looking for a villa walking distance to town that sleeps 10 (6 adults, 4 children). Our dates are weekend of 29/30th May 2010 for 2 weeks. Preferably something that is reasonably priced.
If anyone can help please PM me,

Re: Some Advice for Family Stay
Sounds like a busy holiday in store! We first discovered CVO when our youngest was 7 months. They are now 2 & 4 and we had our 6th holiday there in May, we have always had very happy holidays & feel its a great place with small children. The beauty with little ones is the resort centre itself is fai...

Re: info
Thanks very much for the info. We have previously stayed at Moita which is just past Ali Super, my dad managed that okay, so sounds as though he would be alright with this villa. Is it about another 5 mins walk from Ali Super? Jimmy, you will get fit pushing/carrying your grandchildren up & down the...

Re: info
Sorry Jimmy, meant to say we have used Villaplus several times & never had a problem. We have stayed in villas Moita, Leoes & Vista Do Mar depending on our party size. All were fine, the 1st 2 probably our favourites. Didn't think heated pool would make that much difference, but it was a real bonus ...

Re: info
I was also looking at this villa for 3 families next year. Exactly how steep is the hill, say in comparison to the toughest Monte Dourado hill? Don't mind a good climb ourselves but my father does have mobility problems. He can manage the easiest Monte Dourado hill by the food market okay.

Sea front villa
We would like to try to rent a villa from around 28th May 2010 for 2 weeks (know that seems ages away but school holidays!) We have been to CVO several times, but on our last visit my elderly father particularly fell for the location/view of the sea front road that runs from Algar Seco Parque down t...

Re: BMI Baby Flights
This is useful. Next year will be the first time we will only be able to get away during school holidays. I had been wondering how far in advance flights are released. We are looking to have our main break at the end of May 2010. We fly from Manchester however, normally use Jet2 or Monarch. Any advi...

Re: Transfers
Used farotransfer.com last month as recommended by others on the forum. Link is on home page. Don't know if you have tried them? We paid 70 euros each way. That was for 5 adults & 2 children. Very reliable. Childseats/boosters provided that were of a decent quality. Safe driver ( had terrifying a ex...

Re: EXCHANGE RATES !!!
Not sure but we are always pleasantly surprised when we see our bank statement. Think it's a combination of competitive exchange rate & no surcharge/commision. It's the only method we use now, just get enough euros in the UK before we leave to get us through the first day or two of the hol (plus cre...
