California Italian 'Pizzeria"
Went to the Italian place just below Happys, is it called California. The service was atrocious. Despite only us and 2 other couples in it was fairly early evening, the staff were disinterested and surly. We waited an almost 45 minutes for a bowl of pasta then my partners meal didn't turn up at all,...

Just got back & Happys was 1st class as usual, both for quality, value and entertainment from Libbe. Jota Lita very good food and value again Big disappointment was Casa Algarvia, smaller portions , price rises & paying extra for everything. Food was good but service slow on a quiet night which is a...

O Nuno (Poco Partido)
Anyone been to Restaurante O Nuno at Poco Partido/Salicos lately? We have a pretty late flight and don't fancy heading into town for a bite but this would be ideal for a meal. Any good recommendations about the place. I've passed it several times before always determined to visit so hopeflly this ye...

Re: looking for recommendations
Oasis Restaurant Carvoeiro – we visited tonight, tempted by the sign ‘best ribs in town’. What a disappointment, slow service, dodgy sangria and a tasteless meal. We waited for a table ordering a jug of sangria and watched in amazement as the barmaid randomly selected spirits from the top shelf, ad...

O Tasco
My partner had a steak there. She asked for it rare but it was like shoe leather when it arrived. She was then repeatedly ill during the night. The waiter was apologetic when she complained but the damage was done so just a warning. By the way, my son & i shared a cataplana which was excellent so it...

There is probably another reason , it is a national park and maybe the authorities have clamped down on un authorised traders.[/quote]
Thats what i was thinking at first, i just wondered if anyone knew the real reason?

Re: Happys
Visited Happys twice & Libbe & Harry were on top form as usual. Very good food, great banter and a fun experience. Nearly everyone in were regulars so knew what to expect but the odd newcomers face was a picture to behold as the lads teased and bantered with them. They never once embarrassed them th...

Re: Cape St Vincent
I doubt anyone was drawn to the lighthouse to visit the stalls. I always thought they distracted from the remoteness of the location and I won't be mourning their passing. You may be right but the numbers speak for themselves, it was deserted out there. I also love just standing on the cliffs and g...

Re: Cape St Vincent
Sounds like an improvement to me. no tatty tourist stands or " burger vans ". Its one of the wildest most impressive sceneries in europe why spoil it . Believe me it hasn't improved it. The stands weren't 'tatty' and judging by the complete lack of people there, i reckon a few feel the same way. Th...

Sorry, i know its not general CVO but i holiday in CVO and always enjoyed a drive out to the Cape. You couldn't reach the lighthouse by car due to the brilliant little market stalls & the great hot dog stall saying 'last Bratwurst before America!!!' This year, no stalls and hardly any tourists, what...

Fiesa 2010
Will there be a Fiesa 2010 at Pera this year?
Last years was amazing and great value , worth seeing both during the day and whilst floodlit at night.

Is there anywhere in CVO where you can hire motorbikes?
